Son of Jackie and Hank Hughes
His father, Hank, is currently the defensive line coach at Penn. He's also coached at the collegiate level at UConn, Nebraska, Cincinnati, Harvard, James Madison University, Lafayette, Davidson, Northeastern, Springfield, and Albany.
His family has lived in six different states since Jack was born. He was born in Memphis, TN and raised in Tolland, CT.
