Jumped from the junior varsity ranks to playing all ten games at the varsity level as a sophomore to earn his first letter ... Had 11 solo tackles to go along with 13 assisted tackles ... 23 of his 24 tackles took place over final six games of the season ... His best game of the year was his first career start against Wilmington College (10/3/09), where he had three solo stops and three assisted tackles ... Picked off his first career pass against Marietta to help JCU preserve a Homecoming game shutout (10/10/09)

Added depth at safety for the Blue Streaks as a freshman, primarily as a junior varsity standout.
