Jack MacLean enters his second year as the John Carroll University men’s lacrosse Graduate Assistant for the 2017 season. MacLean serves under second year head coach, Joe Rautenstrauch.
During the 2016 season, MacLean helped guide the Blue Streaks to an undefeated conference record (8-0) while finishing 13-5 overall. He was also a part of the first coaching staff to lead John Carroll to their first NCAA tournament win in program history.
The 2017 season will mark the MacLean's second year of service for John Carroll outside of his career as a student-athlete. A former Cell & Molecular Biology major, he graduated from John Carroll in 2016 and was a part of the 2016 Blue Streak team that won the Ohio Athletic Conference tournament for the first time in program history. MacLean is also an original member of the first Blue Streak lacrosse team that had its inaugural season in 2014.
As a player, MacLean was named to the All-OAC Second Team in 2015 and 2016, received All-OAC Honorable Mention in 2014, was an Academic All-OAC member in 2014, 2015 and 2016. The first year graduate assistant also ranks first in program history in career games played (51), games started (43) and tied for first in minutes played (3,003). MacLean also holds the second place in program history in ground balls (173) and caused turnovers (55).
