Kennan Killeen will begin her second year as a graduate assistant coach at JCU after a successful playing career at Washington & Jefferson College. As one of the top point guards in W&J history, Killeen earned honorable mention on the 2010 Women's D-III News Basketball All-America Team, and was selected as a 2010 First Team ECAC South All-Star, 2010 First Team All-President's Athletic Conference, 2010 Presidents' Athletic Conference Player of the Year, and 2010 Second Team D3hoops.com All-Great Lakes Region.
In her four years at W&J, Killeen helped the President's post a 90-26 record (.776), including a 45-9 mark (.833) in the PAC. Washington & Jefferson made four postseason appearances (two NCAA, two ECAC) and won the 2008 ECAC Division III South Championship under her direction at the point. She made 113 appearances in a W&J uniform and is third on the school's all-time assist list (440). She also ranks eighth in Washington & Jefferson history with 1,189 points and ended her career as the ninth-best career free throw shooter in NCAA Division III history at 85.6 percent (339-of-396).
For her efforts, Killeen was named the W&J Walter C. Cooper Female Senior Athlete of the Year in the summer of 2010 and was one of 117 national conference nominees for the 2010 NCAA Woman of the Year Award. She was also selected into the class of 2010 for the eighth annual Women's Basketball Coaches Association's "So You Want To Be A Coach Program" at the NCAA Division I Women's "Final Four" in San Antonio, Texas.
During her four years, she also was the Sports Editor for the school newspaper, The Red & Black. She graduated from W&J with a B.A. in English and Sociology and is pursuing an M.Ed in Education at JCU.
Killeen grew up in Mount Lebanon, PA and attended Mount Lebanon high school just outside of Pittsburgh.
