Kyle Hubbard, a two-sport standout at John Carroll University, has joined the women’s basketball staff as a volunteer assistant.

Hubbard averaged 11.4 points per game over his career on the hardwood and 14.3 yards per catch on the gridiron.

Last season Hubbard averaged career highs in scoring and rebounding with 16.5 points per game and 5.6 rebounds per tilt en route to earning a first team All-OAC selection. He made 277 free throws over his career which is seventh in school history. As a senior he sank 145 free throws which is tied for the fourth most in school history in a single season.

While a member of the 2009-10 team Hubbard and the Blue Streaks advanced to the NCAA Tournament and were the regular season champions of the OAC.

On the football field Hubbard caught 11 passes for 167 yards and one touchdown on the field to bring his career totals to 23 catches for 328 yards.

A former Lakewood St. Edward High School product, Hubbard was a four-year letterman in basketball and earned two letters in football helping the Eagles to the 2006 OHSAA Division I state semifinals.
