Daniel Tutskey

Daniel Tutskey enters his fifth season with the John Carroll University Track & Field and Cross Country programs in the 2024-25 academic year. Tutskey was promoted to Director of Cross Country and Track and Field in August 2024.

During the 2023-24 season alone, Tutskey guided his athletes to achieve 19 All-American honors, 26 All-OAC awards, 21 All-Region distinctions, 10 school records, and 7 OAC Championships.

During the 2022-23 indoor track season, Tutskey was named the USTFCCCA Great Lakes Region Men's Assistant Coach of the Year. 

Tutskey previously spent stints as head track & field coach at Ursuline College (2015-19), assistant women's track and field coach at North Central College (2012-15), assistant coach at Plainfield East High School (2008-12), and assistant coach at Augustana College (2004-08).

CAREER ATHLETIC ACCOMPLISHMENTS
  • Competed at The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse
  • Captain of 2001 team that won the NCAA Division III National Championship (Indoor and Outdoor).
  • 9x All-American
  • Anchored the 4x100m relay to victory at the Drake Relays
  • Qualified for the USA Track & Field (USATF) Outdoor Championships in the 100m dash in 2002 and 2003.
  • Qualified for the USTAF Indoor Championships in the 60m dash in 2006
  • Ranked 48th in the United States in the 100m dash in 2003 with a time of 10.34 seconds
  • Ranked 127th in the world in the 100m dash in 2002 with a time of 10.30 seconds
EDUCATION
  • Graduated from Wisconsin La Crosse in 2003 with a degree in Recreation Management
  • Earned a Master’s Degree from North Central College in Sports Leadership Studies
