Plummer will begin her seventh season this fall, after posting a 16-14 record last year.
In her four seasons as a starter for SC (1998, 2000-02), Plummer led the Gamecocks to four 20-win seasons and appearances in the NCAA Division I Championship tournament all four years. she served as team captain in 2002 when South Carolina finished 22-7 and reached the second round of the NCAA playoffs.
Plummer made history in 1998 when she became the first South Carolina female athlete to earn first team All-Conference honors as a freshman. At the time of her graduation, she held the school record for service aces in a career, was ranked second in career kills and 10th in career digs. She was also named to the AVCA All-Region team twice.
In addition to her athletic exploits, Plummer was selected to the All-SEC Academic Team four times. Following the conclusion of her playing career, Plummer served as a graduate assistant coach and volleyball camp director at her alma mater during the 2003-04 season.
Plummer is just the fifth volleyball head coach in the program’s 39-year history, following Kathleen Manning (1970-79, 1981-89), Sharon Daniels (1980), Gretchen Weitbrecht (1990-2002), and Regan Pore (2003-04).
