Maggie Naayers

Former University of Findlay standout Maggie Naayers enters her second year as a graduate assistant with the Blue Streaks in 2014.

In 2013 Naayers helped lead John Carroll back to the OAC Tournament for the first time since 2010. Freshman setter Kit O'Shaughnessy became the program's first-ever OAC Volleyball Freshman of the Year.

Naayers, a four-year letterwinner, finished second of the team in total kills (225) as a senior to help lead the Oilers to their first postseason tournament appearance in seven years. She was awarded the GLIAC All-Academic Excellence honor. Naayers was a three-year starter who notched 127 kills as a junior.

A rising club coach, Naayers was tasked with leading the 13's national team for Maverick Volleyball Club this spring. Previously, she coached the Oiler Attack Volleyball Club's top 16's team in the 2013 after leading the 15's unit in 2012.

At St. Ursula Academy High School, Naayers was selected to the All-Toledo City League second team as a senior and was a two-time district champion.

Naayers graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice & Fraud and White Collar Crime from the University of Findlay in May.

She will be pursuing a MBA at John Carroll.
