John Carroll took their fair amount of shots on goal but none made it to the back of the net in a 1-0 loss to Capital in the Ohio Athletic Conference opener for both schools Friday afternoon in Bexley, Ohio.

Trouble was Capital's Kaylee Phillips was the only player on the field to convert a shot on goal. in the 63rd minute, she tracked down a free kick by Samantha Shaffer and deposited the only the goal of the match.
Molly Gradowski (Bethesda, MD, Georgetown Visitation) made seven saves as JCU fell to 2-8-1 overall and 0-1 in the OAC on the season. Linley Vermillion made five saves for Capital, which upped its record to 7-3-2 overall and 1-0 in league play.
