The John Carroll University athletic department will sponsor Blue Gold Community Day on Saturday, September 5, to help kickoff the 2009 fall sports season.  Click here to download and print a flyer to share with your friends.

Neighbors, alumni, and friends are encouraged to be a part of Blue Gold Community Day, centered around the Blue Streaks' football season opener against Thomas More College.  As a partner in NCAA's "Take a Kid to the Game" program, John Carroll will offer FREE admission to all children age 12 and younger who are accompanied by a paid adult.

Community Day festivities will begin with a Cheer Clinic for grades K-12 hosted by the JCU Cheer Squad.  Registration will begin at 8:30 am, with instruction to follow from 9:00 - 11:00 am. Also included as part of the Cheer Clinic are t-shirts for the participants and an opportunity to cheer with the JCU squad in the 2nd quarter of the game.  Additional details may be found on the Cheer Clinic Registration Form.  

Riddell Football will be on site with youth football safety tips and information about helmet sizing and more.  

Adding to the flavor of the festivities is Cleveland's own Blue Lunch, an eight-piece blues/jump/swing band. The music is slated to commence at 11:15 am at Don Shula Stadium.

The Blue Gold Club, the official booster organization of JCU Athletics, will sponsor a pre-game gathering under the Blue Gold Tent with affordable pre-game snacks and beverage offerings. price of admission to the Blue Gold Tent is $5 for adults, and $4 for Blue Gold Club Member, senior citizens and students. Children ages four and under are free. 

Tent festivities will continue until 1:00 pm, with kickoff for the John Carroll vs. Thomas More football game scheduled for 1:30 pm.
