Liana Sved was part of the victory parade for the JCU women in a dual meet at Hiram
A pair of 1-2 finishes in the first two events set the tone for the day as John Carroll vaulted past host Hiram College, 161-121, in a non-conference women's swimming & diving dual meet held Saturday afternoon.
Results
In the first race of the day, the JCU women finished first and second in 400-meter Medley Relay. The quartet of
Julia Adams,
Melissa Fillmore,
Brittany Krauth and Rachel Mizner won the race in 4:52.95. Close behind in second was the foursome of
Samantha Mossman,
Emma Atkinson,
Maggie Donoghue and
Liana Sved, touching the wall in 5:03.43.
Adding to positive vibe was a 1-2 finish in the first individual event, the 800-meter freestyle.
Heidi Benson finished first in 10:07.47, while Donoghue placed second in a time of 10:16.17.
From there, it would be a monster day for Mizner, who picked up three wins in the 200-meter Free, the 50-meter Free and the 100-meter Free.
Adams (100 and 200-meter Back), Fillmore (100-meter Breast),
Lauren Singley (1-meter diving), Atkinson (200-meter Breast) and Sved (400-meter Free) also were part of the victory parade.
With the win, JCU is now 5-6 on the year.
