JCU Women's Swimming & Diving Earns Split Of Eastside Tri-Meet

Sara Knezevich led a strong contingent of JCU swimmers in the 100 Breast Friday night in the Eastside Tri-Meet
John Carroll defeated Ursuline but fell to Notre Dame Friday night to earn a split of an "Eastside (of Cleveland) Tri-Meet" held at Johnson Natatorium.

Results

JCU had two first place finishes in the first three events but could not sustain the effort in dropping a 123-80 decision to Notre Dame. The Blue Streaks coasted past Ursuline, 166-11.

Megan Carrig continued her strong start to the year by swimming to a win in the 1000 Free. Carrig (11:37.96) and Michaela Munday (12:19.07) led a 1-2 sweep in the longest event of the night.

Rachael Mizner picked up a win in the 200 Free, touching the wall in 2:04.24 -- less than three-tenths of a second ahead of Notre Dame's Emily Whitington.

Mizner also picked up a secon dplace finish in the 100 Free (58.13).

Later in the evening, Carrig would win the 500 Free in 5:41.20.

In the final individual event, JCU went 2-3-4 in the 100 Breast, as Sara Knezevich (1:14.17) helped the Blue Streaks net seven team points with her runner-up finish. 

John Carroll is now 2-2 on the season.
