Blue Streaks Earn First Win of 2010

John Carroll was on the road again this Saturday against the University of Michigan Dearborn. The Streaks came out hot with early scoring from Chad Riley, Andy Seil, and Pat Durkin and controlled the ball for most of the quarter. For the first time this spring, the Streaks took a strong lead in the first and were able to build on it throughout the game.

John Carroll's defense was led by a strong performance from sophomore defenseman Pete Grisanti and backup goalie Kyle Sepesy. Sepesy and the JCU defense held Dearborn scoreless through the first as JCU took a 3-0 lead in the first.

The Streaks had the lead after the first and did not take their foot off the gas. Chad Riley put away 6 goals, Ryan Cox had 2 goals and 6 assists, and Pat Durkin put away 2 more, giving the John Carroll Attack a combined 18 points on the day. Also finding the net was junior Colin McNulty with his first ever goal. Midfielders Brian Jaska, Andy Seil, and Tommy Janowicz tagged a few of their own and led the Blue Streaks to their first win this spring, beating Dearborn by a final of 17-4.

John Carroll will be on the road again Wednesday to continue their success against Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh.
