Kerry Fox had a career day against Allegheny as part of an undefeated weekend in Pittsburgh
An undefeated weekend at the Carnegie Mellon University Crossover Tournament not only has John Carroll on a six-match winning streak, but also marks the best start to a season by the program since 1994

In the two-day event held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, JCU started off with sweeps of both Trine and Carnegie Mellon on Friday. Against Trine, JCU survived a tough first game before cruising to a 25-23, 25-17, 25-14 win.
Sarah Slagle season-high 18 digs proved to be vital to the effort.
In taking on the host school, JCU followed a very similar pattern. The Blue Streaks outlasted the Tartans in the opening game (26-24) before taking charge with 25-19 wins in the final two games.
Melanie Rodriguez finished the match with 29 digs -- one shy of her career best -- while
Kerry Fox topped the squad 13 kills.
On day two, John Carroll and Allegheny tangled in a high drama five setter that JCU won, 25-21, 20-25, 25-16, 24-26, 15-7. Fox came up with a career-best performance by contributing 23 kills to the attack. Slagle (12),
Teresa Noewer (12) and
Meredith McDiarmid (10) all finished with double figure kills.
McDiarmid also had a season-high 61 assists -- the most she had in one match since a career-high 66 against Wilmington on October 19, 2007.
The Blue Streaks finished up with a solid effort against Johns Hopkins. JCU had to go extra time in the first two games, winning by the scores of 26-24 and 27-25. After falling in game three (25-18), the Streaks would come back to close out the match with a 25-19 win in game four.
Fox was solid yet again with 18 kills, while mcDiarmid had 49 assists
