UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS – A talented quartet of John Carroll Volleyball student-athletes have been recognized for their academic excellence in addition to their strong play on the court.

On Tuesday, the College Sports Communicators released the 2025 Academic All-District list for volleyball. Four Blue Streaks achieved this honor thanks to having cumulative grade point averages above 3.5 and for playing at least 90% of the team's matches (or starting over 66% of the matches).

Kendra Dziubinski, Tess Humphrey, Olivia Mogyordy, and Mary Kate Sheehan rep the Blue Streaks as Academic All-District picks.

The four aforementioned student-athletes played critical roles in guiding JCU to the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament Final in the first year as members of the league. John Carroll finished with a 21-9 overall mark, including 6-1 in conference play.

Kendra Dziubinski stood tall this season as one of John Carroll's top middle hitters. The senior notched 81 blocks and 156 kills, both amongst the team's leaders. The team leader started all 30 matches and proved to be as consistent as they come, with an impressive .306 attack percentage. She'll finish her degree in Political Science to graduate in the spring.

Tess Humphrey enjoyed a banner campaign as one of the team's setters. The sophomore topped the team with 571 assists as an efficient passer. Plus, the Huron native supplemented her stats with 295 digs while starting all 30 matches. The Psychology major is a stalwart in the classroom with a strong GPA to match her setting skills.

Olivia Mogyordy continued her ascendance as a star libero/defensive specialist. The sophomore put up remarkable dig numbers, leading the NCAC with a whopping 597 digs. That figure ranks second in program history, while her 5.33 digs per set stand sixth in the lengthy history of JCU Volleyball. The Westlake Demon alum picked up First Team All-NCAC status. The future is no doubt bright for the Exercise Science major.

Mary Kate Sheehan continued to make strides as a right side this year. The junior missed three matches, but still finished second on the team with 243 kills (2.98 kills per set). The Chicagoan's attack percentage also stood at an impressive .245 at year's end, all while picking up 87 blocks. The Mother McAuley High School grad secured Third Team All-NCAC honors. The Computer Science's arrow is certainly pointed upwards for her senior season.
