John Carroll University, in conjunction with the NCAA's “Take a Kid to the Game” campaign, is hosting
Blue Gold Community Day at Don Shula Stadium on Saturday, October 15.
Featuring live music on the stadium's Plaza, the celebration includes a “Community Cheer Clinic,” prize giveaways, and a Blue Streaks varsity football game against Muskingum.
Children 12-and-under get in free to
Community Day, which begins at 11:45 a.m. with the "
Community Cheer Clinic," (pre-registration preferred) hosted by the JCU Cheerleading Squad. Indie-rock band,
Zach, will fire up the Plaza at noon, followed by displays, health screenings, concessions, and giveaways beginning at Noon.
In the main event, the Blue Streaks will do battle on the gridiron with the Fighting Muskies of Muskingum University. Kickoff for the game will be at 1:30 p.m., special JCU guest, Louise Barmann, for our coin toss and will feature a CYO Flag Football exhibition game at halftime.
"We enjoy partnering with the NCAA for this annual event to provide FREE admission for youth," said
Jane Evans, Assistant Athletic Director for External Operations. "We have expanded the pre-game activities to include features from various local businesses, non-profit organizations, talent and resources in our community."
Admission for the day is $8 for reserved game seats, $6 for general admission, and $3 for senior citizens. So bring the kids and join the community for an afternoon of fun and entertainment on the beautiful campus of John Carroll University.
