Streaks Bump Record Over .500 With Road Win Over Muskingum

Rico Certo blanked his singles opponent as part of JCU's 9-0 win at Muskingum
For the first time all season, the John Carroll men's tennis team was able to push its record over the .500 mark ... and did so with gusto.

With six straight set wins in singles play, JCU finished what it started in doubles and made it a clean sweep victory, 9-0, Wednesday afternoon against host Muskingum University in New Concord, Ohio.

Box Score

In doubles play, Ryan Mullaney and Chad Ruehs had a hard-fought match in the #1 slot with Malcolm Reed and Adrian Matthews, prevailing by an 8-6 count.

The other two matches were more one-sided

Once singles began, it was all JCU. The Blue Streaks did not surrender more than four games in any of the six matches. Rico Certo turned in a 6-0 6-0 win at #4 singles.

JCU is now 7-6 overall and 3-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while Muskingum slips to 2-7 and 0-4 in league play.
