UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS – As the summer rolls along, the awards continue to accumulate for John Carroll Men's Tennis.

The Blue Streaks earned All-Academic Team status from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association and six Blue Streaks captured 2026 ITA Division III Scholar-Athlete recognition.

Cavan Boutillette, Dylan Murlin, and Ryan Waugaman are all ITA Scholar-Athletes.

In 2026, a total of 1,151 Division III Men's student-athletes were named ITA Scholar-Athletes, and 147 Men's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.

Student-athletes must maintain a 3.5 grade point average for the current academic year to be eligible for ITA Scholar-Athlete distinction. Teams must have a GPA of 3.2 or above.

Cavan Boutillette made a nice debut onto the scene for the Blue Streaks. The first year from Olean, New York cracked the starting lineup and served as a contributor throughout his rookie campaign. He is a Political Science major.

Dylan Murlin fit in nicely with the squad as a sophomore. The Hilliard, Ohio native joined the team after previously playing soccer and immediately became a member of the starting six. The Finance major earned North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week honors on April 7 and later won Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Communicators.

Ryan Waugaman has become a staple on the ITA Scholar-Athlete squad for the Blue Streaks. The junior from Grove City, Pennsylvania previously tabbed Scholar-Athlete recognition in 2025 and 2024. He is pursuing his degree in Finance & Economics.
