Mackenzie Griffin extended her hitting streak to 12 games, which would have made for a good day. Add in a pair of game-winning hits, and it was a glorious day.
The Blue Streaks were able to use late inning magic to pull out a pair of one-run victories Wednesday afternoon at Hiram College, winning by the scores of 3-2 and 5-4.

Game One /
Game Two
John Carroll trailed by a 1-0 score entering the fourth, but quickly jumped into the lead when
Erin Riccardi blasted a two-run homer.
Still, it was 2-2 entering the top of the sixth inning. After
Brittany Danilov double to start the inning, Hiram elected to intentionally walk hot-hitting
Samantha Becker to get to Griffin.
Griffin made them pay with what turned out to be a game-winning single that drove home Danilov.
Danilov was dominant on the mound, striking out ten while walking none, and giving up two runs on five hits in her seven innings to improve to 12-5.
Game two featured a more back-and-forth nature, as hiram jumped out to a 2-0 lead this time around.
The Terriers couldn't hold this lead either, however. A three-run fourth by the Blue Streaks, keyed by RBI singles from freshmen
Morgan Robinson and
Trisha Pike, put the visitors ahead 3-2.
Hiram would tie the score at 3-3, but an RBI double by
Angela Vistocco in the fifth and a run-producing single by Griffin in the sixth gave JCU the cushion it needed in the final two innings. A Hiram homer in the sixth cut the margin to a single run, but Robinson mopped up for the save.
Pike earned the win to improve to 6-2 on the year.
With the win, John Carroll improved to 18-8.
