Men's Tennis Dominates in Singles Competition to Secure Victory Over Baldwin-Wallace

Senior Chad Ruehs was one Blue Streak who dominated in singles competition to lead John Carroll to a victory over B-W.

In a weekend full of athletic contests between rivals John Carroll and Baldwin-Wallace, the men's tennis team was able to collect a solid victory over the Yellow Jackets in University Heights on Saturday.

The Blue Streaks battled from being down after doubles competition to secure a 6-3 victory over the Yellow Jackets. It was just Baldwin-Wallace's second loss in 18 matches this season.

At third doubles, Sean Graham and Michael Hulseman pulled out the Blue Streaks only doubles victory. The duo had a solid 8-6 victory over the Yellow Jackets.

Entering singles competition down 2-1, John Carroll needed to come off strong in order to win the match. Ryan Mullaney, Chad Ruehs, Graham and Hulseman were each able to win their matches in straight sets. At fourthsingles, Rico Certo was able to bounce back from losing 6-3 in the first set to win the next two sets, 6-4 and 6-3.

The win over B-W improves John Carroll's record to 6-6 overall and 2-1 in Ohio Athletic Conference competition, while B-W picks up their first OAC loss with a 16-3 overall record and 2-1 conference record.
