For the past nine matches, the John Carroll men's tennis team had looked like world beaters.
But in Saturday's final of the 2011 Ohio Athletic Conference tournament, the Blue Streaks' impressive run came to an end.
Ohio Northern swept the doubles matches with identical 8-4 scores, then claimed the first two singles points to blank John Carroll by a 5-0 score.

When the match ended, only #1 singles player Mathieu Menard had a lead for John Carroll in any of the clashes that were still on court.
The loss halted the Blue Streaks' nine-match run of victories and capped the season at a record of 13-7. This was John Caroll's first OAC championship match appearance since 2006, which is also the last year it won the postseason trophy.
Ohio Northern followed up its regular season title with the OAC tournament crown, and will represent the conference in the NCAA Division III Championship tournament.
