Fit To Be Tied, Blue Streak Women's Swimming Rolls To Impresive Win At Hiram

A night after giving up a big lead and tying Oberlin, the John Carroll women left no doubt about the final outcome Saturday afternoon at Hiram College.

JCU won 12 of the 14 swimming events contested as part of a 197-87 victory over the Terriers.

Results

A statement was made early on as the Blue Streaks claimed the top two spots in the 200-meter medley relay.

Rachael Libertin then kicked off the victory parade in the 200-meter free with a winning time of 2:22.27.

Karyn Adams (33.61) and Maggie Donoghue (35.39) followed with a 1-2 finish in the 50-meter free, after which a clean sweep of the top three places was turned in by the 50-meter breast trio of Melissa Fillmore (38.26), Sara Knezevich (39.00) and Sara Needham (42.23).

Libertin would lead another sweep in the 100-meter fly, as she clocked in at 1:13.64. Lindsay Eddingfield (1:18.28) and Katherine Wilczewski (1:20.73) touched the wall in second and third, respectively.

Other 1-2-3 finishes were turned in by Karyn Adams (29.26), Victoria Watson (29.92) and Brittany Bokanic (31.31) in the 50-meter free, Julia Adams (4:57.74), Katie Sheffield (5:05.58) and Megan Carrig (5:08.17) in the 400-meter free, and the Karyn Adams (32.10), Brittany Krauth (33.65) and Donoghue (34.57) in the 50-meter fly.
