Fortune was on the Blue Streaks' side as the John Carroll University women's swimming and diving team came away with a 161-133 road victory over the host Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jackets.
The victory enabled John Carroll to place fifth as a team in the Cleveland City Championship tournament.

Lindsey Fano started the scoring for the Blue Streaks when she picked up points for JCU by winning the 1650-yard Freestyle event with a finish time of 19:31.26. Junior
Lindsay Eddingfield (3rd place, 19:56.86) and senior
Megan Carrig (4th, 20:22.42) also picked up points for the Blue Streaks in the event.
Senior
Julia Adams was the first of three Blue Streaks to cross the finish line in the 200-yard Freestyle with a time of 2:03.03, good for first place in the event. Sophomore Katie Sheffield took second place with a time of 2:06.00 and senior
Maggie Donoghue finished just behind Sheffield in third place with a time of 2:06.74.
In the 100-yard Backstroke, sophomore
Karyn Adams beat the competition as she won the event with a time of 1:03.32 to pick up nine crucial points for JCU.
Sophomore
Victoria Watson and
Karyn Adams finished first and second, respectively, in the 50-yard Freestyle with respective, nail-biting times of 26.34 and 26.35. Watson also won the 100-yard Freestyle with a time of 56.27.
Three more Blue Streaks added on to the fun as junior Rachel Libertin (1st place, 5:32.62), Watson (2nd, 5:36.51) and Sheffield (3rd, 5:42.72) all stole the show in the 500-yard Freestyle event.
While John Carroll and Baldwin Wallace are Ohio Athletic Conference rivals, the dual meet did not count as a league match-up. The one that did count in the standings was staged Friday night in Alliance, and JCU fell to the host Mount Union Purple Raiders, 133-104.

In the opening event, the Blue Streaks were able to come away with an early victory. The quartet of senior

Victoria Watson combined for an impressive finish time of 1:53.10 to pick up early points for JCU.
Watson also picked up points for the Blue Streaks as she posted a time of 2:00.04 in the 200-yard Freestyle, winning the event by more than three seconds. The Canonsburg, PA native also won the 100-yard Freestyle event with a time of 55.75.
In the 200-yard IM event, the elder Adams was successful in claiming first place as she narrowly won with a time of 2:16.89, just .36 seconds better than her teammate Fano, who took second place with a time of 2:17.25.
Sophomore
Danielle Ketterer also joined in on the action as she claimed first place in the 1-meter diving event with a score of 126.95, beating out the score of 115.25 posted by Mount Union's Sara Fountain.
Fano again came up big for the Blue and Gold as she won the 100-yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:13.61, again proving her worth.
