Outside of one singles victory, there was little for the Blue Streaks to take away from an 8-1 loss to the defending league champion Ohio Northern Polar Bears.

It was the first match-up between the two teams that battled for the league title in 2011, but it was a decidedly different line-up for JCU this afternoon against an Ohio Northern team that returns four first or second team all-league players from last year.

John Carroll's lone returning All-OAC performer from last year's squad, Ryan Mullaney, tallied the Blue Streaks' lone point. Mullaney defeated Michael Kathary by a final score of 5-7, 7-5, 1-0 (10-3).

The Blue Streaks slip to 3-8 overall and 1-1 in the OAC. Ohio Northern improved to 3-3 overall and 1-0 in league play.
