Peter Scanniello was the other victor for the Blue & Gold, defeating Otterbein's Dustin Goldman by a score of 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (5-0) in #6 singles.
Michael Hulseman put forth a valiant effort in #3 singles, taking the Cardinals' Ryan Shutt into three sets, before bowing out, 7-6 (4-0), 2-6, 6-0.
The team loss drops John Carroll to 4-10, 2-3 in the OAC, while Otterbein improves to 5-10, 3-2 in conference.
