Box Score The Tom Arth magical touch worked once again. The last time Arth visited Ada as a player was in 2002. The then-quarterback threw for 319 yards and three touchdowns to lead John Carroll to a 33-7 win.

Fast forward 11 years and the Arth-led No. 15/16 Blue Streaks won at Ohio Northern for the first time since their coach's last visit as a player triumphing over the Polar Bears 47-0 to improve to 7-0, 6-0 OAC.

The special team players set the tone for John Carroll once again.

With four blocked punts in the last three games the Blue Streaks harassed Ohio Northern all day finishing with two more blocked punts and a blocked field goal attempt.

"We really cannot say enough about the effort on those units," said Arth. "Mike Cook has done an absoltuely phenomenial job coordinating the special teams, really getting them believing and playing hard. I'm so proud of the players for their execution. It's something they take a lot of pride in and it's going to be big for us moving forward."

Choe Samba blocked a punt on Ohio Northern's first offensive possession to give the rising junior a blocked punt in the third straight game.

The Polar Bears' first second quarter ended with a second Kyle Bergman blocked punt. Andy Bryan busted through the line before Bergman was even able to start his punting motion. With a trio of Blue Streaks lunging for the ball, an alert Jimmy King scooped up the pigskin and dragged a Polar Bear with him into the end zone to put JCU up by 17.

Bergman then felt the heat on his next two attempts only booting punts of 29 yards on each attempt.

Randy Greenwood deflected a 38-yard field goal attempt in the third quarter and added an interception on the afternoon.

The return game also was running on all cylinders this afternoon.

Jordan D'Orazio continued to be more explosive in the return game taking the opening kickoff 46 yards and setting the offense up near midfield. The hard-to-tackle sophomore added a kickoff of 36 yards to open the second half.

Looking to make a statement early the offense marched right down the field with Mark Myers putting the Blue Streaks on the board right away with a 31-yard touchdown strike to Aramis Greenwood.

The duo would hook up 14 more times on the afternoon to give Greenwood 15 receptions – two short of tying Frank Ross' school record of 17 set against Capital in 2009. Greenwood would finish with 185 yards receiving. Myers would go on to throw for 321 yards completing 27-of-37 passes.

The two-headed monster of DaQuan Grobsmith and Tommy Michals kept the Polar Bears reeling all afternoon running at will down the field.

Michals, who entered with two career touchdowns hit pay dirt three times during the game with 1-, 2- and 2-yard scoring runs. The junior finished with 23 carries for 132 yards while Grobsmith carried 12 times for 62 yards.

"Tommy played really well," said Arth. "The offensive line did agreat job opening up some holes. He really ran hard when he got the ball. I'm really proud of the effort."

Kresimir Ivkovic was kept busy and battled stiff wind all afternoon. The junior connected on four of his five field goal attempts including a long of 36 yards.

A week after allowing its first points in the first half this season, the nation's No. 2 defense clamped down and suffocated the Polar Bears throughout the game. Only allowing 89.3 yards per game through the air entering action today, the Blue Streaks held ONU's starting quarterback Patrick Angle to 7-of-22 throwing for only 67 yards. The Polar Bears also did not convert a third-down attempt finishing 0-for-10 in that department.

In addition to scoring a touchdown King finished the afternoon with 10 tackles including two for loss. As a team JCU finished with seven tackles for loss.  In all the defense only allowed 126 yards of total offense while the offense gained 521 yards.

John Carroll heads to Wilmington for a 1:30 p.m. tilt on Saturday, Nov. 2.
