Senior Gabriella Kreuz became the first John Carroll runner since 2005 to earn All-American honors when she placed 26th at the NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Championships Saturday at Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana.

Wearing bib #237 and serving as the lone Blue Streak representative in the field, Kreuz completed the 6,000-meter race in a time of 21:54.5 to place 26th out of 280 runners.

Kreuz is the first All-American from John Carroll in the sport of cross country since Ellie Fernandez and Cyril Pinchak both earnned the honors at the 2005 NCAA Division III Championship.

She was also the top Ohio Athletic Conference runner, edging Heidelberg's Sopgie Goobic (who finished 27th in 21:54.7) for that honor. Kreuz was also the second fastest runner from an Ohio school, with only Oberlin's Emma Lehmann 911th place) crossing ahead of her.

Johns Hopkins had three runners among the first 11 across the line and finished with 85 points to defeat second-place Williams College (Mass.) by 52 points (137) in the team standings.

College of St. Scholastica (Minn.) senior Chelsea Johnson was the top individual, touring the course in 21:11.7.
