The Columbus area has not been friendly to the John Carroll University men's tennis team this spring. Faced with its second trip to Columbus in the last two days the Blue Streaks looked for a better result than on Saturday.

Capital won two of the three doubles points and would take the 7-2 match on Sunday in Bexley, Ohio. Capital improved to 7-6, 4-2 OAC while John Carroll fell to 7-9, 4-2 OAC.

Jad Abdul-Aal continued his successful week for the Blue and Gold. The freshman teamed with Nick Siciliano to win at No. 2 doubles 8-5. Abdul-Aal regrouped from dropping the second set to win at No. 1 singles 6-2, 2-6, 7-5. Abdul-Aal improved to 6-0 in singles play in the OAC with just two conference matches left in Heidelberg and Marietta.

Siciliano also battled hard in singles but dropped a 2-6, 6-0, 6-7 (4-7) decision in the No. 4 position.

John Carroll travels to Heidelberg on Tuesday, April 15.
