Box ScoreWith the OAC Tournament looming the John Carroll University women's tennis team picked up a key win for potential seeding with an 8-1 win over Heidelberg on Wednesday afternoon at Hathaway Brown School in Shaker Hts., Ohio.
John Carroll jumped out to a 2-1 lead at the end of doubles with
Katherine Devine and
Tracy Gibson took the 8-1 win.
Ivana Didovic and Josephine Miller added an 8-5 win at the No. 3 doubles.
Anna Stein had a strong showing at No. 4 singles taking the 6-0, 6-0 decision.
Tracy Gibson did not drop a game taking the 6-0 decision before her opponent retired.
Engel and Didovic both posted identical 6-0, 6-4 singles scores. Devine (6-2, 6-3) and Miller (6-3, 6-4) rounded out the singles sweep.
John Carroll improved to 8-9, 4-3 OAC while Heidelberg fell to 7-8, 4-3 OAC.
The women's tennis team heads to Marietta on Saturday, April 26.
