Decisive Third Quarter Propels JCU Men's Lacrosse In Final Non-Conference Match

Box Score John Carroll took some much needed time off before venturing to Wisconsin for its final regular season non-conference match-up.

The time off paid off.

A decisive third quarter propelled the Blue Streaks to a convincing 9-3 win over host beloit Saturday afternoon in Beloit, Wisconsin.

Goals in the first period by Brian Jaszka and Daniel Kincaid staked the Blue Streaks a 2-0 lead.

After Beloit got on the board, Keegan Flinter answered to give John Carroll a 3-1 lead that held up to the intermission.

In the third quarter, JCU caused five turnovers which fueled an offense that scored four unanswered goals coming out fo the break. Declan O'Grady scored two of the goals, while Kincaid and Flinter each tallied one.

The Blue Streaks kept the Buccaneers at bay by matching them two goals for two goals in the final quarter to win their seventh consecutive match. With the win, John Carroll improved to 9-1.

John Carroll, with Kyle Patterson manning the post, won seven of a possible 11 face offs.

Brian Bedell allowed just three goals and made eight saves. The Blue Streaks outshot Beloit, 36-20.
