John Carroll had already been through one battle in the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Tournament with its quarterfinal round win over Heidelberg Tuesday.

The top-seeded Otterbein Cardinals would certain;ly provide an even sterner test Friday afternoon at the Lindner Family tennis Center in Mason, Ohio.

Despite coming out of doubles play trailing by just a 2-1 margin, JCU ultimately dropped a 5-1 decision as the Cardinals won three singles matches in straight sets to close out the match.

John Carroll posted its lone win at #2 doubles, as Katherine Devine and Tracy Gibson teamed up for an 8-1 victory. Devine and Gibson finished the season 8-3 as a doubles tandem

Gibson was the only Blue Streak leading a match when Otterbein earned its fifth point, a win at #2 singles by Sammi Kruger over Devine.

JCU ended its 2013-14 campaign with a record of 10-10, making its fourth consecutive trip to Cincinnati for the OAC semifinals.
