Dalton Browsky finished with two goals and an assist in the win.
Box Score Offensive consistency has been hard to come by as of late for the John Carroll University men's soccer team.
On Saturday, the Blue Streaks (5-3) found some of the consistency they have been looking for. John Carroll scored a season-high six goals during its 6-1 win over Saint Vincent College (2-7) in Latrobe, Pa.
"We are starting to click on the offensive end," said head coach
Hector Marinaro. "With our overall technical ability and talent we should be able to create scoring changes consistently like we did in this week's matches."
Freshman
Jacob Lombardo started the scoring fest with his first collegiate goal. The Mentor, Ohio native who had two assists coming into play found the back of the net in the 15th minute.
It was the day of the freshmen as both
Dalton Browsky and
Jesse Marinaro had big days for the Blue and Gold.
Less than two minutes after JCU's first goal the Blue Streaks struck again. Browsky set up
Brian Potocnik for the senior's team-leading fifth goal of the season. Browsky would connect on a pair of goals of his own in the 18th and 25th minutes staking JCU to a 4-0 lead. The first was Browsky's first collegiate goal.
Jesse Marinaro become JCU's third freshman to score his first collegiate goal this afternoon. The Brunswick, Ohio native found the back of the net in the 54th minute and would strike again less than three minutes later off a feed from
Tristan Lyles.
"It was great to see three of our freshmen score their first collegiate goals this afternoon," said
Hector Marinaro. "We have a very talented first year class that we are expecting big things from this year and in the future."
The Bearcats' Scott Luthy scored Saint Vincent's lone goal.
John Carroll put 17 of its 26 shots on goal with the Bearcats' Sam Hayward and Eric Houghton combining for 11 saves.
John Carroll remains on the road with a 7:30 p.m. tilt at Hiram on Wednesday, Sept. 24.
