Box ScoreTwo singles comebacks played a big key in the John Carroll University women's tennis team's 6-3 win over Allegheny College on Tuesday evening at the Robertson Complex in Meadville, Pa.
Katherine Devine and
Natalie Bourlas rallied from one set down to win their respective singles matches to give the Blue and Gold two key singles points. Devine defeated Sloane Prince 2-6, 6-1, 6-3 while Bourlas etched out a 3-6, 7-6 (8-6), 10-8 victory.
The Blue Streaks had a near-sweep in singles play taking five of the six points.
Nicolette Bourlas posted a 6-2, 7-5 win over Sun Mo Koo.
Catherine Engel added a 6-4, 6-4 win over Mikaela Pope at No. 2. Rounding out the singles winners was
Molly Traverso who had a 6-1, 6-1 win over Kristie Oravec.
The Blue Streaks lone doubles point came from Devine and
Tracy Gibson. The duo posted a 8-5 win at the No. 3 position.
John Carroll returns to action at 3 p.m. at Trine on Saturday, Oct. 4.
