John Carroll hit the pool for their first meet of the season on Saturday, and one freshman certainly made a dramatic first impression.

After breaking the school record in the 100 Back in his first career meet, freshman Jack Garrow has been named the OAC Swimmer of the Week.
His 53.76 time broke Blake Pinchot's mark of 54.18 set in 2009. Garrow also won the 50 Back earlier in the meet with a 25.62. The Illinois native put on a show as the Blue Streaks fell to Case Western Reserve University, 186-107.
Garrow picked up where he left off in high school. The freshman was a three-time state qualifier. The Blue Streaks next take the pool on Halloween in Ada, Ohio against Ohio Northern.Â
