In an exciting late fall Ohio Athletic Conference meet, Ohio Northern defeated the John Carroll men's swimming team, but JCU's underclassmen ruled the day.
Four JCU underclassmen captured all of the team's five event victories in a stirring display of young talent for the Blue Streaks amidst the 186-112 loss in Ada, Ohio on Saturday afternoon.

David Kirtek captured wins in both the 200 Breast (2:14.43) and the 200 IM (2:01.37). The rookie won the two events by a combined margin of just .48 seconds. Kirtek also won two events last weekend (50 Breast and 100 Breast) last Saturday against Case Western Reserve University.
Fellow freshman Tom Pacak also notched a victory for the second straight week. Pacak locked up an easy win in the 500 Free with a time of 4:53.02.
John Liber eased past his opponents in both diving events. The sophomore triumphed in the 1-meter dive with a score of 223.35 and in the 3-meter dive with a mark of 231.
JCU drops to 0-2 overall, 0-1 in OAC play with the loss to the Polar Bears. The Blue Streaks will have some time off before returning to action on November 14 in a road meet at Ohio Wesleyan.Â
