Host Randolph Macon scored three goals late in the fourth period to overcome a two goal deficit, and after JCU tied the game to force overtime. the Yellow Jackets held possession throughout the extra period and scored the winning point with four seconds left for a 7-6 victory in Ashland, Virginia.

Originally, the game was scheduled to be played on Saturday afternoon at Loyola Blakefield High School in Baltimore, but weather on Thursday brough heavy snow to the Baltimore area and forced a location switch.

JCU did not seem to mind early on, scoring three goals in the opening period. But the offense stalled and allowed the yellow Jackets to stay in the game.
