Nicole Pilewski and Jessica Swisher both posted second-place finishes as the John Carroll women's track & field squad took sixth at the 47th Annual Sparky Adams Invitational.

The event was won by Mount Union; JCU recorded 40 points on the afternoon.

Pilewski took second in the javelin with a throw of 33.37 meters. Her toss earned JCU eight points. Jessica Swisher (2.91m) edged out competitors from Mount Union and Baldwin Wallace to take second and eight points.

The Blue Streaks had a friendly race to the finish in the 1,500-meter, as Cassie Schillero (5:01.42) edged out Hanna Sterle (5:01.96) by  one-half of a second.

In the 800-meter, Alyssa Biedron went fourth, recording a time of 2:25.07. Alainna Schmidt and Ashura Powell each took a top-ten finish in their events. Schmidt ran a 1:03.49 in the 400 and Powell went 26.40 in her 200-meter.
