After an opening weekend where wins were hard to come by, the John Carroll women's swimming and diving team made up for lost tioem Saturday in a meet at Division II Ashland University. A slew of first place finishes powered the Blue Streaks to a 158-118 victory.

JCU came out swinging, as
Carly Adams (in her first meet of the year) led off a relay that also featured
Carmen Ferrante,
Anne Crowley, and
Shelbi Shearer. The 200 Medley Relay won by almost four seconds with a time of 1:51.87.
Hope Scherger then started a wave of 1-2-3 victories by leading a sweep in the 200 Free. her time of 2:02.05 was followed to the wall by Tori Vale (2:06.07) and
Emma Connell (2:09.94), and the Blue Streaks were off to the races.
Adams led another 1-2-3 finish in the 100 Back as she won in 1:00.91, followed by
Spenser Kale (1:03.32) and
Marisa Crisci (1:03.75).
Carmen Ferrante (1:10.13),
Jessica Morrow (1:11.37) and
Monica Rzepka (1:12.21) were the first three to the wall in the 100 Breast.
For good measure,
Chloe Ruggiero 92:24.69),
Sophie Kocheff (2:26.06) and Sam Nagy (2:30.02) claimed the top three spots in the 200 Fly.
John Carroll never trailed after that.
Despite not finishing first in either the 50 or 100 Free, and not scoring points in diving, the Blue Streaks did not have to wait long to regain their swagger. Kale led a 12-3-4 sweep in the 200 Back (2:17.18) as did
Carmen Ferrante in the 200 Breast (2:33.30).
Maddie Dolce produced the last win of the day, an emphatic 18-second win in the 400 IM (4:56.02).
John Carroll will commence its Ohio Athletic Conferenec schedule this Saturday, November 4, when the Blue Streaks host Mount Union beginning at 1:00 p.m.
