For the Blue Streak men's squad, participating in the national championship qualifying event include the identical group who posted a third-place result at the 2017 Ohio Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Oct. 28: senior Matt Andrews (fourth place, 25:19.80), sophomore Kyle Monahan (ninth, 25:41), freshman Jamie Dailey (11th, 25:45.7), senior Ross Martin (19th, 26:09.7), sophomore Matt Hallgarth (21st, 26:12.8), sophomore Chad Burrow (25th, 26:24.8), junior Ryan Scanlon (26th, 26:31.0) and junior Alex Ryan (30th, 26:38.0).

On the women's side, head coach Kyle Basista will roll out a group of runners with a second-place finish at the same championship meet just two weeks ago: senior Erin Kiley (seventh, 22:52.3), senior Cassie Schillero (ninth, 22:59.7), freshman Maria Sagi (15th, 23:26.1), freshman Morgan Kelley (17th, 23:40.8), sophomore Jamie Amoroso (20th, 23:40.8), freshman Madelyn Brindza (27th, 23:57.9) and senior Lauren Gornik (30th, 24:09.2).

The men have finished in the top-third of the field in all but one of their events this season, including a first-place title at the Tiffelberg Open on Sept. 16 and a second-place result atop a 31-team field at the Inter-Regional Rumble on Oct. 14.

Andrews landed in 25th place at the 2016 Great Lakes Regional – propelling his team to 11th place of 36 teams overall – running to a time of 25:31.4 and earning all-regional honors. Hallgarth broke the top 100 last year, coming in 97th place at a clip of 26:40.8.

Similarly, the women have outpaced their competition throughout the campaign, finishing in the top half of the field on all but one occasion, highlighted by their fifth-place result at the OWU Invitational on Sept. 9 and second-place mark at the Inter-Regional Rumble on Oct. 14.

The roster nearly clamed a spot on the national stage at the 2016 Great Lakes Regional, finishing fourth out of 31 programs courtesy of Kiley (22nd place, 22:34.1), Schillero (45th place, 23:06.0), Gornik (51st, 23:10.9) and Amoroso (66th place, 23:35.7).

The men's race starts at 11 a.m., the women's race commences at 12:15 p.m. and the awards ceremony is slated for 1:15 p.m.
