Almost at full strength, John Carroll got a glimpse of what the future could hold Saturday at the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational in Powell, Ohio.
With six runners in the top 50, the Blue Streaks corralled a top five finish in the 18-team field. Hope won the meet with 64 points, followed by Otterbein (80), Kenyon (87), Oberlin (89) and John Carroll (94). Hope, Otterbein and Oberlin were all national ranked in the top 30 at the beginning oif the season.

Erin Kiley led the way this afternoon by placing fifth, covering the 6000-meter course at Liberty Park in a time of 22:39.7. The senior was one of only five runners to be within a minute of meet champion Linnea Halsten (Oberlin), who ran the race in 21:47.2.
Cassie Schillero was next across the finish line, as the senior finished the race in 22:56.2, good for 13th place overall.
A pair of freshmen,
Morgan Kelley and
Madelyn Brindza, were the third and fourth Blue Streaks to complete the course, respectively. Kelley claimed 20th place in 23:11.9, while Brindza was 21st in 23:13.4.
Rounding out the scoring was yet another rookie, as
Maria Sagi took 35th place with a time of 23:45.0.
Lauren Gornik (39th) also earned a top 50 showing with her time of 23:48.6.
John Carroll was second among four OAC schools in the field, placing behind Otterbein while finishing ahead of Baldwin Wallace (8th) and Mount Union (12th)
