The target on the backs of the Blue Streaks is large, and no more was the evident than Saturday at Ohio Northern. Despite giving away points in diving, John Carroll survived a spirited challenge to defeat the Polar Bears, 154-134, in Ada.
John Carroll has now won 14 of its last 15 Ohio Athletic Conference dual meets dating back to the 22014-15 campaign.

After a loss in the opening relay, John Carroll tried to get things rolling when
Maddie Dolce got things started with a decisive 31-second win in the 1000 Free. But the Blue Streaks did not score another win until the 50 Free, when
Olivia Talamo stepped up and delivered a win by a half second over Sydney Veon (25.38 to 25.82).
The score was 56-56 after the 50 Free, but Ohio Northern picked up an uncontested 13 points in 1-meter diving to take a 69-56 lead.
Carmen Ferrante started things in the right direction when she claimed victory in the 100 Free (55.20).
Carly Adams followed with a win in the 200 Back (2:13.94) that put the Blue Streaks up 82-81.
The big swing came in the 200 Breast and the 500 Free. In the first race,
Monica Rzepka,
Chloe Ruggiero and
Jessica Morrow completed a 1-2-3 sweep. That vaulted the JCU lead to 98-84. The lead grew to 114-87 when
Hope Scherger, Dolce and
Sam Needham went 1-2-3 in the distance free event.
From there, the Blue Streaks kept the cushion.
Anne Crowley scored a win in the 100 Fly, and then JCU swept the top two spots in the 400 Free Relay to ice the meet.
John Carroll is now 3-1 overall and 2-0 in the OAC. John carroll has now won nine consecutive league dual meets.
