JCU Makes The Grade As 2017 IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Squad

The John Carroll University women's lacrosse team was one of 308 schools across Division I, II, III, and NAIA to be selected as an Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Zag Sports Academic Honor Squad for the 2016-17 academic year.

To qualify for this prestigious honor, a women's lacrosse team must have posted a 3.0 or higher team GPA for the academic year.

This is the second consecutive season that John Carroll has met the team academic standard to earn the Honor Squad accolade.

Head coach Rachel Dell led the Blue Streaks to an 11-5 record overall and a 6-2 mark in Ohio Athletic Conference play in 2017, qualifying for the league postseason tournament a third consecutive year. As many as 11 of 12 starters are expected to return for the Blue Streaks in 2018, including including OAC Offensive Player of the Year Grace Curatolo, OAC Defensive Player of the Year Brooke McQuinn, and all-region honoree Gina Vilsack.
