Women's Tennis Captures OAC Crown With Victory Over ONU

Box Score John Carroll has won their third straight regular season OAC Championship with an 8-1 victory over Ohio Northern this afternoon. 

The Blue and Gold dominated in the doubles aspect of the championship matchup, winning all three matches. Lauren O'Malley and Madisyn Rini cruised to a 8-1 win. The dynamic twin duo of Natalie and Nicolette Bourlas had a closer match, but were still victorious 8-4. Lastly, Jennifer Stroyne and Alyssa Krupp won 9-8 in a competitive third match. 

In singles action John Carroll dropped one the number two match. 

O'Malley started the day off on the right foot winning 6-2, 6-1 in the first match of the afternoon. Nicolette Bourlas in the third place match won a hard fought battle, 6-3, 6-4. Molly Traverso and Alyssa Krupp had no problem winning both of their sets in dominating fashion. The final match would be between Stroyne and Mackenzie Wills. Stroyne took the first set 6-2. However, in the set set Wills would flip the script and win 6-2. Stroyne won the third and final set 11-9. 

This marks the the 27th straight regular season win for the ladies. Next up, for the Blue Streaks will be the number one seed in OAC Tournament next week.
