Box Score Less than 48 hours after a hard-fought and hard-to-take loss against perennial power Mount Union, John Carroll had to turn around and play once again.
Wilmington may have been in the wrong place at the wrong time. A motivated John Carroll squad produced their largest margin of victory in program history, defeating the host Fightin' Quakers, 29-1, on Friday evening.
The Blue Streaks quickly got to work in the first half, outscoring the Quakers, 18-0. By the 17:57 mark, John Carroll led by double-digits to force a running clock for the rest of the game.
Grace Curatolo,
Gina Vilsack, and
Colleen Grombala all recorded hat tricks, while
Meghan Harte,
Sarah Cilano, and
Anneke Carlo each added a pair of goals.
The scoring continued into the second half. The Quakers' lone goal of the game came in the fourth minute, but the Blue Streaks added 11 more goals to secure the win.
Five Blue Streaks found the back of the net at least three times. Vilsack led the JCU offense with seven goals, while Grombala followed with five. Curatolo and Harte also added four. Vilsack combined her goals with three assists to match her season-high in points (10). Â
Megan Sarles and
Caroline Smith shared time in goal. The duo tallied a combined three saves on four shots.
Several Blue Streaks notched season and career-best performances. Curatolo recorded a program-best nine assists for a second time in addition to a season-best 13 points. Cilano also finished the game a single-game career-best performance, tallying three goals and four points, while Carlo finished with a single-game career-high in goals (2).
Curatolo has now recorded 30 or more assists in all four years as a Blue Streak.

As a team, the Blue Streaks out shot Wilmington 48-7 and won 22 out of 30 draw controls. JCU also picked up double the amount of Quaker ground balls (29-14).
Alexis Guage had a team-high seven ground balls.
