Women’s Lacrosse Snags IWLCA Academic Honor Squad Status, as 5 Streaks Make Honor Roll

The Blue Streaks enjoyed an excellent year in the classroom in addition to the field

NORTHBOROUGH, MASS. – Following a strong debut in the North Coast Athletic Conference, John Carroll Women's Lacrosse adds awards for strong work in the classroom. 

On Wednesday afternoon, the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association announced its annual honor roll and honor squad.

JCU Women's Lacrosse has been distinguished as an IWLCA Academic Honor Squad. A total of five Blue Streaks made the grade for the IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll: Annalise Caulfield, Riley Knapp, Karson Martin, Emily Van Gorder, and Hannah Weiss. 
 
Annalise Caulfield starred in the classroom during her junior year as a Mathematics major. On the field, the Long Valley, New Jersey native played in 5 games. 

Riley Knapp enjoyed an All-NCAC campaign as a junior, making the Second Team while excelling as an Exercise Science & Leadership Development major. The Cazenovia, New York native topped the team with 60 draw controls while notching 28 points along with 34 groundballs and 22 caused turnovers. Knapp also tabbed College Sports Communicators Academic All-District recognition. 

Karson Martin starred as a senior, starting all 16 games. The CSC Academic All-District winner accumulated 33 draw controls, 8 groundballs, and 4 goals. The Pittsburgh native secured her Exercise Science degree in May.

Emily Van Gorder rounded out her career as a bigtime defender. The senior star helmed a strong defense, starting all 16 games and registering 19 caused turnovers. The Fairport, New York native completed her degree in Primary Education this spring before earning CSC Academic All-District honors.

Hannah Weiss helped to anchor the defense as a lockdown player who started all 16 games. The Sports Information star tallied 32 groundballs (third on the team) while adding 17 caused turnovers. The Hamburg, New York native and CSC Academic All-District honoree wrapped up her degree in Exercise Science in May. 

The IWLCA honored 1,350 student-athletes from 174 different institutions on the 2025-26 IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.

The IWLCA has named 357 schools across Division I, II, III, and NAIA as IWLCA Academic Honor Squads for the 2025-26 academic year. To qualify for this prestigious honor, the women's lacrosse team must have posted a 3.2 or higher team GPA for the academic year.
