Anna Vaccarelli and Mary Wymard Secure IWLCA All-Region Recognition

Vaccarelli and Wymard both earn the honor for the first time

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – A pair of talented Blue Streaks have secured All-Region accolades.

On Friday afternoon, the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association announced its NCAA Division III All-Region Teams. 

Anna Vaccarelli and Mary Wymard both secured Second Team All-Region honors. Both earn the recognition from the IWLCA for the first time in their careers. 

In her first season as a Blue Streak, Anna Vaccarelli helmed the offense. The sophomore topped the team with 58 points, ripping home 29 goals and 29 assists. The Medina native also registered 21 groundballs and 13 caused turnovers. The star tallied three or more goals in five games, including a season-best 5 goals vs. Hope. The First Team All-NCAC pick tabbed a point in all 15 games this season. 

In her junior season, Mary Wymard helped to anchor the JCU defense. Playing in all 16 games, the Gibsonia, Pennsylvania native topped the team with 42 groundballs as a vacuum on the field. The Pine-Richland grad also topped the team with 29 caused turnovers as an excellent defender. The First Team All-NCAC selection nabbed a caused turnover in 14 of 16 games this season as a consistently excellent player.
