John Carroll did not have to spend too much time on the road, but the road still proved to be unkind as the Blue Streaks were swept in Berea Tuesday evening by Baldwin Wallace.
A slow start doomed JCU early in a 25-11, 25-21, 25-19 defeat, which was the fourth consecutive time that the Blue and Gold were swept by the Yellow Jackets.
After a tough start, John Carroll was much more competitive in game two. The Blue Streaks burst out of the gate, 6-1, and led as late as 19-16, but Baldwin Wallace won nine of the last 11 points to take a 2-0 lead.
The Blue Streaks fell behind early again in game three and could not catch up. JCU trailed 6-1 but rallied to pull within two points at 17-15, but the host team pulled away late to close out the match.
Baldwin Wallace improved to 19-5 overall and 2-4 in the OAC, while John Carroll slipped to 17-9 and 1-5 in league play.
Cassi Calamunci led the way with 15 kills, the only Blue Streak in double figures.
Ally Bartolone had 23 assists and Anna Couglin had 16 digs.
