The Blue Streaks got off to a red-hot start in Ohio Athletic Conference action, winning the first four matches of the night. Those early victories were able to propel the Blue Streaks to a 25-15 victory against the hard-charging Student Princes of Heidelberg University Tuesday evening at the Tony DeCarlo Varsity Center,
Sophomore
Kyle Murray got things started for John Carroll with a win over Harrison Hadley by a decision of 6-2 at 125 pounds. Sophomore

he jumped out early and held on for 6-4 decision against Mason Brainard.
Junior
Jarrod Brezovec was involved in a competitive first period with Hayden Bates, but that would change in the second period. Brezovec started on bottom, but surprised Bates with a quick reversal and moments later secured the pin, putting the Blue Streaks ahead, 12-0, after three bouts.
"I just tried to get to the winning combination," said Brezovec after the match. "I've been working on it with my coaches and I feel good that I was able to get the chance to use it."
Freshman
Patrick McGraw followed Brezovec by another big victory, adding five more points to the team total by virtue of his 27-11 win at 1249 pounds. In the match McGraw got 12 takedowns in less than seven minutes, ending the bout with 20 seconds remaining once he breached the 15-point plateau.

Heidelberg was eventually able to put points on the board in the fifth match to make the score 17-3 before the break.
Sophomore
Luke Reicosky wasn't going to let the Blue Streaks lose their momentum. He went out and competed throughout the 165-pound match, scoring a slew of points late to increase his score to get the major decision to bring the team score to 21-3.
