John Carroll scored its most points in regulation in almost five years this afternoon as the Blue Streaks routed host Pitt-Bradford, 97-40, in Bradford, Pennsylvania.
The 97 points was the highest point total for a Blue Streak team since beating Mount Union, 101-78, on January 29, 2014.
The Blue Streaks had four players in double figures, and a total of 12 players found their way into the scorebook.
The Panthers scored the very first point of the game on a free throw, but JCU scored the next 14 and never looked back. John Carroll led 25-9 after one period and 52-18 at the half.
Sarah Sprecher led the way today with 17 points for John Carroll (3-1), while
Olivia Nagy and
Nicole Heffington each added 11 points.
Sarah Balfour came off the bench to tally a career-best 13 points.
Dani Carlson had a career-high 13 rebounds, while
Abby Adler tallied a career-high seven assists.
As a team, John Carroll had a season-high 20 steals and forced 29 turnovers.
The Blue Streaks host Case Western Reserve Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m.
