Rachel Halapchuck took home three wins vs. Wilmington
On October 31, 2015, the John Carroll women's swimming & diving team lost by a 152-147 score on the road at Ohio Northern.
The Blue Streaks have not lost a conference dual meet since.
On Saturday afternoon in Wilmington, Ohio, John Carroll put the wraps on a fourth consecutive undefeated run through the conference and extended its league dual meet winning streak to 19 in a row with a 171-87 victory over the host Wilmington College Quakers.
Results
It was a clean sweep that started the day for the Blue and Gold, as the "A", "B" and "C" relays at the 200-meter medley distance occupied the top three spots.
Tori Vale,
Gwyn Ledrick, Rachel Halapchuck and
Maddie Dolce won the race in 2:09.50, followed by
Spenser Kale, Shelbi Sherarer, Gwyn Hamilto and
Maddie Panus in 2;13.36. The Third relay of
Sydney Schuler,
Ashley Lynch, Monice McKie and
Felice Ferrante touched the wall in 2:17.19, ahead of the Wilmington "A" quartet that finished in 2:20.70.
JCU failed to finish in first place in just two races today, as the Blue Streaks piled up victories throughout the afternoon.
In the 800-meter free,
Paige Wnek continued her strong second semester by winning for the second time in three weeks. The junior covered the distance in 10:17.97, while teammate
Kyleah Gaydos was second in 10:30.69.
In the 50-meter back. Kale (32.98), Panus (33.64) and Ferrante (34.24) made it a 1-2-3 sweep.
Also engineering a 1-2-3 sweep was the trio of Halapchuck (1:11.31),
Ynyra Bohan (1:11.47) and Hamilton (1:14.43) in the 100-meter fly.
Ledrick won the 50 Breast (35.66), as did Panus in the 50 Free (29.03) and Halapchuck (1:11.25) in the 100 Back.
Dolce, in her final regular season dual meet, took home a victory in the 100 Free (1:04.07), with teammate McKie (1:05.40) claiming runner-up honors.
Closing out the day were wins by Shearer in the 100-meter breast (1;20.60),
Lauren Spencer in the 400-meter free (4:59.53) and McKie in the 50 Fly (30.16).
In the final relay, the 200-meter free, the foursome of Lynch, Panus,
Emily Yoos and Ledrick won in a time of 1:56.20.
John Carroll concludes its regular season with a record of 5-2 overall and 4-0 in the OAC.
